Seeking silence...silence from myself and others, I put in on the river and headed North. The current was not hindering me in any way and I soon became intrigued. Nature does that to me. Before I got to the bridge, I saw some type of birds flying over the water to and fro. (Just an side here: in case you don't know this, when paddling, it's difficult to paddle and ready your camera while staying on course.) First of all, by the time I got under the bridge, all the birds had scattered shrieking loudly so I saw nothing and secondly unfortunately I kept drifting sideways resulting in NOTHING but blurred shots of their nests as I passed. Fast forward 3 1/2 hours...
When I paddled back, the gentle current was pushing me ever so slightly and this time I readied the camera long before the bridge. Letting the current carry me, I rested the paddle across the kayak (don't worry, I have a bungee attached to the paddle in case it slips overboard), and held the camera as steady as I could.
So tiny...tons and tons of swallows perched, chirping away, and watching me float by. What darling little birds!!
just seeing, saying, and sharing...

Great photos. How fantastic to see so many of these lovely birds.
Where there's a will there's a way and you found the way to get these wonderful shots of the swallows
Hello,
Sounds like a fun time, love the swallows. Have a happy day and a great weekend ahead!
Love the kayak pointing the way in the first pic.
Can I count camera maneuvering as exercise? ;)
Swallows are amazing things.
Such beautiful shots!
