The Unexpected

Planning on capturing a few fine "critters" for you to take a peek at, I was glad to see the deer moving about during the recent blizzard.

Moreover, I was, I'll admit, very concerned about the eagles...especially since they are on eggs.  They made it through though because they are sticking to their rotation schedule for incubation duties and I have heard them every day.

However, I was NOT expecting these:

Such little troopers!!

And then, mid-morning, the Robins appeared!!!

just seeing, saying, and sharing...

  1. Love your unexpected visitors. What a beautiful splash of color they were. That second picture would make a nice painting

  2. JP, I love your pictures. It makes me sad to see little birds that look cold. The blue birds are so pretty. My granddaughter Savannah , at age 4 , saw a chickadee all puffed up in the wind ...and she said in her sweet four year old voice..."him's wishing it was summer". That just touched my heart. She does love birds. Wishing you so warmer weather there. It got up to 73 here yesterday. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. It's lovely to see life returning......our robins have had to sit out a few blizzards...they come back earlier every year.

  6. They ARE very unexpected! You have captured such beauty and color, even in the snow. Poor little puffed up Bluebirds! I thought they migrated. But I just found out that some robins will stay behind as well. Your pictures really convey their cold misery and strength!

  8. Oh, those bluebirds are lovely. We have the same ones here, with the blue bodies and orange bellies. And the Robin is one of my favorite birds. They don't scare easily like the other birds, and always let me take pics of them. It's nice to know you appreciate the birds too, my friend.

  9. JP, They are so colorful even through the snow. Yucky weather. They are Eastern Blue Birds and a Yellow Throated Warbler, right? Love the robins. I saw geese in a V overhead today so it is coming. Thanks for sharing. Sylvia D.
