Passing Through

Nearly every day...sometimes in the early morning hours, sometimes mid-morning, the Wild Turkeys pass through.

Usually, when I'm out first thing with Moon, they are gobbling up a storm in the woods where they bed down.

Quite often, while I'm in the woods observing the eagles, I see them parade through the brush.

As the two young males led the way, the hens followed....some closer than others.

Once they got past a big patch of herbaceous growth we leave intentionally for cover for the rabbits, they began their search for food.

just seeing, saying, and sharing...

  2. I always associate the wild turkeys with my Dad.....usually when we went up to see him there would be a flock in the field opposite.

  3. JP, I love to see wild turkeys. My daughter just showed me pictures of a bunch she saw two days ago. I took pictures of her chickens today. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

We have plenty of Wild Turkeys here, but I rarely see the Toms displaying like that

  5. What crazy looking birds they are - especially the males.

I suppose they feel safe at this time of year.

  6. I see so many turkeys around here.....at the trail and even in front of my house. They are peculiar looking birds, but I appreciate them at Thanksgiving. : )
