Meeting my BFF for breakfast after my workout earlier in the week was great. Since we hadn't seen each other in quite a while, it was wonderful to play catch-up. You see, I've never been one to "go out with the girls" at night, if you know what I mean.
However, one sunny afternoon, I decided to do my version of
out with the girls.
These girls are spoiled. Their owner caters to them as she does to everything and everyone she loves.
Although they greeted me wholeheartedly, once they realized I hadn't brought them anything special, they went right back to doing what they like to do best...pecking.
Pecking and clucking are far more interesting than spending time with me. They thoroughly enjoy the freedom and are so happy when out of their coop.
As I turned to head home, they headed for the edge of the woods, flipping up the dry leaves in search of more goodies.
just seeing, saying and sharing...

We always had chickens when I was a child. I miss them!
Have a great day!
Gram had chickens. I used to sit by the wired in yard and listen to them singing in the sun.
JP, Those chicken remind me my daughters. It had been a very long time since I had seen chickens scratching at the ground . They are fun to watch. Glad you had time with the girls. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I grew up with lots of chickens. It was always my job to collect eggs...a job I hated because I got pecked more times than I care to remember...and still have a couple of scars to prove it. lol xo Diana
Sounds like a good roup of girls to hang with
That would be my kind of 'out with the girls'. My girls are laying again.
Love the chickens! Cute post!
How nice to meet your friend for breakfast. Sometimes I have coffee with one of my oldest friends from grade school. : ) Lovely chicken pics.
