Growing Grass

A few years ago, while we were visiting my youngest step daughter and her family, her husband asked us if we wanted some of this grass that he had in his front yard.  Little did they know that the Pres and I had always admired it when we went to their house.

So when we got it home, the Pres broke up the big cluster they gave us and spread it out in smaller bunches along the front of our fence.  It makes great cover for the rabbits and other small mammals from the many owls and hawks we have out here.

It also makes great cover for Moon, don't you think?

just seeing, saying and sharing...

  1. I have fallen in love with those grasses, too. Hadn't even thought about breaking them up and spreading them out. Thanks. And I see snowflakes on your blog. Does that mean winter has begun for you? We are finally cooling off down here, too. Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  4. JP, I love those tall grasses. I planted a purple one here and it died so I planted a green one and it looks good every year. I want to tell you a cute little story. My husband went golfing with friends and there was some really tall grasses in the landscape. He asked one of the fellows what it was. Jeff said , "I'll find out and call you". I saw the answering machine flashing and answered it...I told Ted, "Your friend Jeff called and said you were a pompous a**" The next golf outing Ted asked Jeff why did you call me a pompous a**? " Jeff said , "No I was telling you the tall grasses were called Pampas grass." The fellows laughed about that for years. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. It's always exciting to get a 'gift' that you really want. I imagine the grass will be a welcome sight for lots of little critters.
