The Big Melt

The morning mist was a dead giveaway of the warmer temps predicted for that day.

Their shapes stood out as I gazed into the woods, listening to the high pitched chirp of one of the adult Eagles.

The river near us is no longer frozen which is why, I think, I've seen the adult Eagles so much.

I've spotted an adult four times in just two days coming from the nesting area heading toward the river.  Although once, it was "escorting" an immature out.

At least now that "the big melt" is upon us, food will be easier to find...

for all the critters...:)

  2. sadly I've noticed that as things have started to warm up and the critters are coming out too many of them are ending up dead on the roads

  3. What an amazingly beautiful place it is where you live. Makes our suburban street seem so mundane compared.
Hope your warmer weather arrives soon for you.

  12. I saw an eagle in town on Friday. It was amazing as it flew from the top of one pine tree next to a house and across the road to a tall pine in the cemetery next to the river. I wish I could have go ten a photo of it. The deer came out on the hill last evening for the first time in months. The snow was melting down so they could feed on some grass however we have a blizzard here today. It's nice that you see and hear the birds and animals too. I love the country life.
