Winter Cheer

Colorful...
alive...
cheerful.

Seeing the buds basking in the sun, made me feel warm

even though mounds of snow were right outside.

I've also noticed that despite the blustery cold and snow, the birds have begun to get some color. Moon and Copper are shedding a little more too, another sign. Today it was sunny and warm...near 40 and yes, tonight the temps will dip into the teens and re-freeze anything that thawed but that's okay.

Do you suppose Spring is on the way?

Sharing a little Winter Cheer with you
and those at

Sunlit Sunday

  1. It is very nice to see your blooms and the sunlight, very uplifting sight.. Much better than the snow I am seeing outside, it will take a lot of warm sunny days to melt..Lovely images, have a happy week!

  2. Gosh, blooming flowers! I haven't seen any in so long. Are they geraniums? Is that a wooden turkey? Very cool!

  3. Oh, I do love geraniums. We have lots of red ones throughout our garden plus some beautiful pink ones. Am aiming to buy a white one soon. Of course with no really cold weather in Perth they flourish outdoors. Yours look very healthy and lovely.

  4. Such a lovely contrast to the outside snow. I love geraniums, although I've never had much luck with them. I'm anxiously awaiting Spring- can't wait to get my hands in the dirt!

  9. a nice break from the snowy cold days (for you & much of the country here in the states). so pretty & colorful. here in north FL it's gotten down into the low 20's at night & early AM. no snow. but lots of frosty mornings. yesterday though...it all of a sudden jumped to near EIGHTY!! wow! now today, cool & drizzly again. crazy weird weather!! the azaleas started to bloom...then BAM...colder than freezing temps & they all died! :(
i think spring is not too far off! :)

  12. Oh what a great to see the geraniums blooming! I've never tried to keep them indoors. I always figured they would just get leggy and look bad I guess. I really don't have a good window with lots of sun which I'm assuming would help. We are going to warm to the mid to upper 20's next week….haha..so much to look forward to!

  16. I am terribly late in visiting you and not excuse is good enough for my delay in getting here. How beautiful to have these blooms! I saved a couple of geraniums from last summer; I'd better look more closely to see if I can find some buds.
