Like everyone else last week, we were given a gift...a gift from Mother Nature who apparently hasn't decided whether she wants Fall for a little while longer or if she want Winter to come early.
And while Moon loved the snow that fell overnight on the fourteenth, I felt rather badly as I wandered around the yard taking things in.
Although beautiful in it's own right, I hope it didn't suffer.
So I Googled "Is freezing to death painful?."
What do you think?

I hope it's not but I don't know for sure.
freezing and drowning are the easiest ways to go, or so i have heard. i rather freeze than drown... don't feel bad for the dragon fly, they kill butterflies... so when i find one drowned in our pool, i think ok, now our butterflies are safe...
Beautiful photos of your yard. Poor dragonfly. I wonder if they just die each year or where they go into hiding for the winter. What about all the other creatures of summer. Guess I should Google that.
I'm not a fan of snow in November! We have a little bit too and barely got the leaves up in time. Happy Tuesday!
we had snow, too. on top of bright green grass and green trees. so odd.
Don't they say that dying of cold is a good way to go? I suspect I can think of a lot worse ways.
Poor dragonfly. Maybe (s)he was already dead when the water froze.
Ya we had snow too. Torrey was thrilled, but she was the only one.
pretty snow images.
i think the dragonfly didn't feel it.
I love that shot through your window panes - lovely!
Gorgeous snow shots ~ too soon for me! Hope the dragonfly didn't suffer ~
Happy Week to you,

I don't know if freezing to death is painful or not but I know I would be miserable up until I died since I HATE to be cold.
aww, poor little dragonfly ... maybe he will come back to life. please. i will keep my fingers and toes crossed in total hopes. ( :
Winter schminter.
It does look pretty and peaceful.
Ohhhhhh....it is so quiet now... No insects.... No insect sounds
Hi JP.
It sure looks like winter there.
Weather patters seem to be changing all over the world.
Your front garden looks so lovely with the white snow.
A great photo of the dragon fly.. I suspect it just has a lifespan then dies..or it got drowned.. must google and see.
Happy days..

Well we got the cold and snow too and I can't like it! One of my nieces used to say "I can't like it" when she didn't like something and it's exactly how I feel about being cold. It hurts my body, so I think it would be painful, until you went numb from freezing! Makes a beautiful picture though and I didn't know they killed butterflies.

We can't wait for snow over here. What a lovely series of shots.
What a poingant shot of that dragonfly frozen in to place. I am hoping that when it thaws out it will fly away. Wishful thinking. Lovely capture of your dog out inspecting his kingdom!
First I'm not sure that snow if a "gift" but God decided we needed it anyway.
What is it about dogs and snow, they always seem to enjoy it.
Oh my that is so sad about the Dragonfly but what an awesome photo of it frozen in time like that.
The photos of snow are beautiful, JP. We infrequently get a dusting of snow here in the deep south. It's unusual for it to be so cold this time of the year- I can remember wearing shorts until mid-December years ago. There's definitely been a change in weather patterns. Sad for the dragonfly, but that is a pretty photo of it.
Poor dragonfly.
Wonderful series. Thanks for dropping by, keep warm there.
