- Nestled in Connecticut's "Last Green Valley," the journey continues....
It was a out first real spring weekend here - so I think you could be right about what is happening!Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
that butterfly is really taking a deep sip... she must know it is going away soon. they can come down here and drink all winter.. the dragon fly is the right color to blend in with the background. did you know dragonflies kill butterflies? i read that somewhere and then a few weeks later saw one attack a butterfly right out over our pool.
There have been lots of signs of autumn prep and yes, I am ready. I've started tossing some of the tired container plantings and cutting back a few things to tidy. There haven't been as many dragonflies here this summer, lack of sunshine I suppose.
They are neat critters and lovely sightings.. Gorgeous photos.. Happy Sunday!
some dragonflies migrate and the green darners are one of them...
Wow!! Love the emerald green one, and the butterfly right up inside the flower! NO, I am not ready for fall or winter. And the older I get, the more I dislike it! And dislike is an understatement! I want light, light, light! And not two thirds of the day filled with dark. If it were winter, you could never get such beautiful pictures as this.
Hi! Have never seen a Swallowtail enter so deeply into a flower before,..great shot. Love that green dragonfly, have seen quite a few recently.Best Regards.
I love the Tiger Swalliwtails. The last of Summer. *sigh*
Enchanting shadows!6WS and Shadow Shot
LOVe the ones with the butterflies!
Great photos, JP! As I sit here this evening, I've got a pair of socks on and a long sleeve shirt--Ready or not, here it comes... I'm not ready...
Not quite ready but getting there. Nice shots of the butterfly and dragonfly.
