A Blueberry Thank You

After drinking my coffee, I began to think about breakfast.  But, still hearing the Pres snoring, I knew I had to wait...and wait...and wait.  Usually I'm up by 5:30.  The Pres sleeps until 8:30-9:00!  UGH!!!

When I'm hungry, waiting is hard.  And I was really hungry!

Finally, when I saw the clock on the microwave hit 8:23, I said to myself, IT'S LATE ENOUGH and began heating up the griddle.

"Honey.  Honey, you awake yet?"
Groan, moan came from the master bedroom.
"Honey, you'd better get up.  Breakfast is almost ready and we're having blueberry pancakes."
"I'm up...I'm coming...I'm moving," he muttered.
Walking over the the frig with his glass in hand to get his OJ, I said, "Nope, it's right here on the counter...already poured."
Smiling slyly, he said
"Did I miss a holiday?  Our anniversary? Valentines Day?" he questioned as I planted a smooch on his dry lips.
"Nope.  I wanted to thank you for driving me back and forth to Jay's and Bette's the past few weeks.  Besides, I was in the  mood for pancakes...my pancakes...made with lots and lots of wild blueberries!"

  5. mmmm, you sound like me; up and dressed and make a caffeine-fix, coffee. Pancakes with blueberries, fabulous. Heard a French chef' talking on radio the other day, he makes them with yeast in the mix for a light/fluffy pancake. Let the yeast mix stand for two hours though, that would work for you :) and the Pres. Yes nature feeds the soul too.

  7. Joe and Grenville have that sleeping later in common. Like yourself, I am always the first one awake, but that's my early tome to read or watch something on Netflix. Those blueberry pancakes did look great and so very large!

  9. Ata girl! That's one way to get his attention. :) Mmm, I actually love blueberry waffles, pancakes, muffins, anything. But I usually throw them into a smoothie because I'm too lazy to make the pancakes in the morning...lol. Hope your week is a lovely, warm one. :)

  17. "Did I miss a holiday? Our anniversary? Valentines Day?" he questioned..." Awwwwwww, isn't that cute?!?

And how sweet you are! To do something special, as a thank you.

Ohhhhhhhhh, we all should do such things! Notice the nice little things done for us, by someone. And let them know that we notice. And are grateful.

What a lovely posted lesson. Thank you!!!!!!

  18. Fortunately Phil and I both get up at about the same time each day...round about 9.30am so no conflict.
Blueberry pancakes sound delicious and now I realise we missed pancake Tuesday last week. Perhaps make up for it next week. :)
