Random 5 Friday

I love living out in the country.  There's nothing more relaxing than seeing a herd of milk cows, horses peacefully grazing and or maple trees being tapped.  To me people seem friendlier and more caring...down to earth, hard working...genuine.  I wonder if my fondness of country life is because I was raised in the country??

No, I am not a city girl even though I worked and lived in the city for many years when raising my children.  We would take rides to the "country" to sit on the stone walls that I sat on growing up...walls where we would see what shapes we could find in the clouds.

Being Valentine's Day made me think of all the things I family, my friends, my life.  And, selfish as it may sound, here's hoping the Pres cooks us a yummy breakfast and that he likes the card I got him!

Valentine's Day is cause for celebration for the Pres and I and it has been for a long time!  Copper Lucas Aspen was brought to us when he was 10 months old.  He made my heart melt then as he does today...ten years ago...Valentine's Day!

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!!

  8. What a sweet. Cooper looks like he is a very sweet dog.

  9. Copper is the perfect Valentine's gift! I was not raised a country girl but now that I am, I can't imagine ever living back in the city. The people truly are friendlier and life does make more sense! :)

  10. I think any time lots of people are squeezed together whether in a city like NYC or on a crowded freeway they can act a little ugly. When everyone can spread out (like in the country) they're much, much nicer.

Tonight I saw the moon peeking through some trees in my backyard. I live a block off of Space Center Blvd. not too far from the Johnson Space Center, so I just had to take a picture of THE moon. I thought if JP can do it so can I. Did you use the flash? My moon looks like a tiny light in the sky. I'd have to tell people it was the moon. :(

  11. Super cute photo of Copper when he was a baby-puppy! Hugs.

  12. I grew up in the country, so I definitely like the wide open spaces and less people.

  13. Happy belated Valentine's Day. I like the elbow room that country living gives, but I miss many things about living in the city/suburbs too. It's a toss up for me.

  14. JP, Belated Hearts Day wishes to you, Joe and Copper. It's not just one day, but all year long as we well know!
