A Story: The Scrapbook

Years ago, when my daughter was married and her father-in-law was preparing to move, he gave me a few of his memories.

Whenever, I would go to my daughter's house to visit and he was there, we would sit, talk and trade stories since we were the same age.  He passed away many years ago but I think of our talks and his smile often.

He was a quiet man...a gentle man and for some reason, he chose to bestow some of his keepsakes to me.  I remember the day he'd packed a box of things and handed them to me.  He said, "I know you'll take care of them for me."  I have.

  1. The "keepers" know each other.

  2. That was so sweet of him to think of you JP! He must had really enjoyed telling his stories to you.

  3. Oh, this makes me wish I had known him...

  4. what a cool scrapbook and how special that he chose you to take care of it for him.

  5. Now that's what I need to do...find someone to keep all my little treasures. I'm so afraid my sons won't be interested in keeping anything and I'm a sentimental old fool.

  6. That was really nice of him. sandie

  7. JP what special memories you have of this gentleman and you have certainly cared for his scrapbook well.
