The Girls

The other afternoon, while I was out with Moon and Copper, a few of the local girls were visiting as usual.  So, peering through the apple trees, I snapped a few pictures to share.

Sorry this one is a blurry.  I was trying to tiptoe in my  boots.  And at 63, I'm certainly no gazelle!

Last night, there were nine in the yard.  I think the most we've ever had was twelve or thirteen!

The best time is when the fawns start coming in.  They jump, frolic and kick their heels, running wildly across the hillside.  They're too funny...:)

I'm heading over to Angela's today at WVTreasures.  It's time for Tuesdays Show & Tail !

  1. Oh, and I have to tell you. Our electricity came on while I was talking to you on the phone yesterday and I didn't even notice, LOL! Pierce told me as soon as I hung up the phone. Too funny.

  4. They're gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

I sometimes see 2 or 3 when I'm walking with the dogs, but it's so rare that I never think to take the camera with me.

  7. Do they ever bother your flowers and gardens?

DH sees them back on the farm, but never in the yard. We may be too close to the road for their comfort.

  8. How gorgeous. We don't get to see any deer here (I've only seen a few on the back roads, but never on the property...)

  9. Every morning when I walk Annie and Mazzy we see our deer. They are so tame they will let you come within a few feet of them. No hunting is allowed on the farm and I think they know they are safe.

  11. What a great capture! The deer that live on our ranch come down from the hills every night to eat at our commodity barn...love watching them.

  12. I love seeing the local girls at my house. I don't see them near as often as I did before I got 2 dogs. We used to find evidence that they were at the front steps of the house if you know what I mean! lol Great pictures! Hope they don't eat all of your apples this year!

    Tuesdays' Show & Tail!

  14. Great pictures. I really enjoyed seeing the deer in my pasture this spring (just wish they didn't like snacking in my orchard).
