A Successful Trek

Although it may be difficult for you to read the articles recently published in CT Wildlife Magazine, I just had to show you...tell you...that the recovery mission has been successful for Haliaeetus leucocephalus (aka Bald Eagles).

All the hard work, although far from done, has paid off.

Thanks to hundreds of volunteers, the CT Division of Wildlife, continues to monitor and track these magnificent birds.

(In the next pic, the young gentleman in the tree is the fellow I submit my reports to.)

Honored to be part of this endeavor, this week (Friday actually), I have been invited to accompany a renowned eagle observer on a jaunt into the woods.

There has been a sighting reported of a pair and from what I've been told, after crossing a swamp, then walking for about 1/2 mile, we will begin to search for a nest.  We are starting at 10 am and considering it gets dark around 4:30, I am hoping for the best.

just seeing, saying, and sharing...

Sounds exciting. So if you are starting at 10 I imagine you will be up and ready by 5. I know I would be if I'm doing something that I"m really excited about

Great that you could get a close-up of the babies. Eagles are just so majestic it is like looking at a mountain top from a distance. I am in awe.
