The End

The first weekend in August, I did more volunteer work.  Representing TLGV at local fairs to answer questions and concerns, I was eager for the day to arrive.  The afternoon before "my gig,"  I had told "my boss (who really isn't my BOSS, but he says he thinks it's cute that I call him that.) that I would give him a hand setting up the booth for our organization.  That went well and he showed me what I'd have to do the next morning for set-up.

Saturday morning came and I eagerly packed my car with a few last minute things he'd suggested.  I was also looking forward to meeting Steve who I would be working with until relieved by the next team.

As I was setting things up, a gentleman approached.  Extending my hand to introduce myself, I spotted the four children behind him.  Ranging in age from 12 to 6, all help out on their farm...tending to the chickens, their cows and or working in the vegetable gardens.  Making the entire morning zoom by, they were THE MOST WELL BEHAVED, POLITE children I have ever met.  In fact, the oldest, Cyrus, had signed up to do volunteer work himself at a nearby booth because, as he told me, "You know JP, without volunteers, a lot of important things wouldn't get done."

Of course, when the opportunity was right, the kids and I left Steve holding the fort so we could check out what was in the barns.

When the kids and I were leaving the barn, Emily told me to take this shot and after telling the story to say...

just seeing, saying and sharing...

The End
