Does Anybody Make This Anymore?

Hunkering down under the covers the other night, my mind began to think of food.  Why, I'll never know.  Perhaps because of the bitter cold we had the beginning of the week.  Anyway, what came to mind was something I made when I was married to husband # 1.

Never really learning to cook when I was growing up (because I was busy doing things like baling hay, shoveling stalls, feeding Angus, collecting eggs and other chores), when I look back on my first marriage and our years together, I wonder how he even survived...LOL!

Anyway, for some reason Tuna Noodle Casserole came to mind. So, I Googled it the next morning.

Directions
  1. Stir soup, milk, peas, tuna and noodles in 3-quart casserole.
  2. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes or until hot. Stir.
  3. Mix bread crumbs with butter in bowl and sprinkle over tuna mixture. Bake for 5 minutes

I like tuna noodle casserole. I never made it with peas though until Wade kept complaining that it was supposed to have peas

I love it! And make it every winter. No peas, though. Different recipe. It was a favorite in my house growing up.

I have not made it in years and years. I used to make it for my family when the kids were young and all at home. I had not thought about it in a long time. Thanks for the memory- xo Diana

JP, My sister-in-law used to make this all the time. She would bring it to Thanksgiving dinner and take it back home, cause no one ate tuna on Thanksgiving. :):) It's good to think back to our leaner times ...makes us count our blessings. Hope you are doing well. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

My daughter makes it quite often. I used to make a similar dish with canned salmon.

I actually thought of this recipe the other day and am glad to know it can be found at All Recipes. I did make one with leftover salmon the other night much the same but going from memory. It was tasty!

I know my son-in-law makes a Tuna Noodle dish but he'd never add peas as he went off them when young when his mother apparently added peas to everything. Put him right off.
I may try that recipe though as it sounds delicious so thank you for sharing.
