Our Maples Among The Pines

are PREPARING FOR WINTER.

Sure we have other varieties of trees here in our neck of the woods like Oaks and Elms, however there is something special about the Maples.  Perhaps you, too, will see what it is.

Entering the woods in back of our house, I was greeted by patches of sunlight enticing me to come in for a closer look.  Greeted by an abundant show of color, I fell for Fall all over again, knowing that our Maples are merely Preparing for Winter.

Even through the dried, dead, fallen vines, the Maples light up the path.

 Almost home...

It is curious how autumn colours light up the woods but so lovely.

JP, It's so pretty there. I love sugar maples. They do have the best colors. Thought of you when my daughter showed me a picture of a spider at her house. Yikes. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Beautiful photos. I do like maples a lot and we have 5 of them on our lawn but the downside is all those thousands of leaves to clean up every fall. The colours are worth it though.
