To Catch A Thief...

in our yard really isn't that difficult...especially in the morning when Moon, Copper and the Pres are all still snoozing.  Usually, that is my quiet time.  One morning, standing on the deck, sipping my brew, I caught Mother Nature in action.

The feeders get filled at the end of the day so they are ready for all the morning BIRDS????

With one effortless hop, she was up, over and in.

She munched, selecting only the best.

I couldn't help but wonder why the ferns on this side of the fence tasted better than the ones on the other side of the fence.

Does this boot come in my size?
Do you have four in stock?
she pondered.

Then I spotted the other doe and fawn in the tall ferns behind the fence.  Apparently they are not as fussy about the selection as the boot shopper.

Sharing with you and those at

Good Fences

Good morning, those darn squirrels are thieves. I love your sweet deer, sorry that they eat your plants though. I love the cute spotted babe. Great series, enjoy your day!

Fawns are cute, but big adult deer are TASTY! Backstrap steaks and a whole lotta jerky!

Oh, those are great shots! We have four-legged visitors to the garden sometimes but they are way too skittish for me to get photos like that.

What fantastic photographs!

Dad tried for years to keep deer from the garden. (I have been taking down some of his double high wire this week) He finally decided to plant two gardens. One around the outside edge for the deer and ours was in the center. The hope was they would fill up in their garden...

Your yard is beautiful.

Lots going on there in the morning. Love the jump back over the fence in the last picture.

What a delightful visitor. Sharing that time in the morning would make for a great day, I think. I don't know if I would be so indulgent if they invaded my garden though.

Oh what a wonderful visitor you had and then seeing that sweet little fawn behind the fence must have been pure joy. Loved this set of photos.

Beautiful photos of the deer JP. They are so pretty if they'd only stay in their territory. I saw 4 yesterday morning just beyond our property line. Smart deer!

I notice you did not go our straight away to soo them away!!! the Deers are so beautiful. I think I might even put food out for them if I could have them come so close as yours were.

Hey, that was an unexpected encounter JP.

Deer occasionally get into my parent's garden and usually nibble ALL the new flowers!!

We planted marigolds in our veggie garden and then they never touched one veggie. They went in the garden but apparently they don't like the smell of the orange yellowish marigolds.

Nice pictures. We put Vaseline on our feeders and they slid off more then on.
