The Downward Dangle

As the Pres and I watched from the kitchen window, that one brazen squirrel paced across the stonewall as it's companions watched.

Back and forth.  Back and forth.  Stopping to look up occasionally, it seemed to be studying heights and angles.  Then it happened.

Without warning, it was up, tucking it's agile gray body into the top making itself comfortable for doing the downward dangle.

they just love that feeder. i stopped feeding sunflower seeds about 2 years ago as they got so expensive (and since i feed an army of whistlers thru the winter, i saved my $$ for scratch feed.)

That is so cute, I miss that we don't have squirrels here. Only the ground squirrel kind. But we do have a few chipmonks to make up for it. I would bet you that Samson will not give up and that Faith's struggle for top dog status will continue until Samson gets too old to care. Fortunately, he fights her, but he does not bite. He just fights and snarls and sounds horrible until he can flip her over.

They're acrobats, that's for sure. A friend had one trapped INSIDE her feeder and had to remove the top to let it escape. The next day, it was back inside.
