Thundering Hooves

The rolling hills dotted with bison seemed endless.  Their they were, grazing peacefully... until the owner rattled the grain buckets.  Then, they came from everywhere and within minutes the thundering hooves slowed to an easy pace.

  It is home...their home.

I'd love a thick woolly coat like that at the moment.

Oh my, wonderful to see, especially for an Aussie as we don't have bison in our country. They are fine woolly looking animals.

How awesome to see so many of them.

Gorgeous countryside for the bison. And such a beautiful profile in the last photo.

What a remarkable animal - what must have it been like to see the huge herds of the past?

They're all the same the world over, different animal, different country but shake the dinner loudly enough and as if by magic look what comes thundering towards you! Shame it doesn't work with humans!!!

How wonderful! I would have loved to have shared a scene like this with my grandson last summer in CO but we missed the bison. Maybe next time.
