Wintering Wonder

Taken during the month of December through the kitchen window, each time our Bluebirds appear, I run for the camera.  Usually the male and female appear within seconds of each other and just last week, Christmas week, they visited frequently.

I am hoping they stay the Winter.

WHY?

Because they match the decor...
don't you think?

My favorite bird.. great captures here! They stay out in our fields most often, don't come near the house or let me get too close for pictures most times when I try.

they stay here all year, but when we have hard freezes like this week, i'm wondering what they find to eat.

Splendid pictures of these cuties! I thought they migrated in the winter. Maybe your feeding tempted them to stick around. They are so cute!

Great shots.

Too early to nest but stranger things happened last year.

They are so beautiful. I'm surprised they don't go farther south for the winter but you are lucky to have them there. ;)

I just love bluebirds. We have a little set up at our school where there is a digital camera in the birdhouse. We get to see the building of the nest, the laying of the eggs and the hatching, feeding and leaving of the littles. And the sweet birds don't hear a thing. It's really amazing. We feel like they are our birds. :)
