Am I A Robot????

Over the past few weeks, nearly everyone's blog I visited has prove you're not a robot on the comment screen with a cute little reCaptcha box that requires a checkmark, then typing in the "magic" numbers that appear.

Where did it come from?

Is this a permanent thing on Blogger now?

At this point, you don't have to do any of that. Just comment and post, and it will still go through. So they are probably not done perfecting it yet. I think there has been so much awful Spam and other bad comments that they were practically forced to. Although this does still not take care of the individual nuts out there.

since you're a blogger/google user, just ignore it. the poor folks that use open id (wordpress, typepad, etc.) have to use it from now on, it seems.

I was wondering to JP but have ignored it. TexWis has a good response. ;)

If you go into your settings and change the comments to inline from a new pop-up window, the captcha thing goes away.

I'm chiming in with everyone else...if you just ignore it, the comment will still go through. I've heard of so many blogs getting pictures and posts stolen...maybe this could help? Inconvenient for sure, but who knows.

You CAN get rid of it but unless you're confident changing settings I'd not advise it. We'll keep reading!

Like everyone else said if you are a blogger user you don't have to prove anything. :) Comment without doing that and it will go through.
No idea if it's permanent or not

It's been showing up for a while now. Just ignore it and carry on like always.

I haven't seen it on my blogs, but it could be coming. I certainly didn't put it there! Oh, yes, I see it on your blog!

I answered your question about the watermark this morning, so come on over and read about it.

blogger did it and it doesn't work, never has and no need to type anything or check the box, just type and publish

TexWis is correct, you can ignore it since Blogger knows and trusts you. :)

At first it annoyed me but now that I know you can just post your comments without the captcha thing I don't even think about it.
