Fair Fences

Approaching the ring, I felt the excitement building.  It so reminded me of when we would go to shows as a kid.

My cousin rode English and I rode Western.  Having many fond memories of being around our horses daily, it is something I will always remember.  Although I never competed, my younger cousin did.

There's nothing like leaning on a fence that borders a riding ring for a perfect view of the young riders and their mounts.

Scenes such as this make me realize my love of horses will always be, so asking the Pres to head down to the riding ring was no surprise to him.

Sure, they're a lot of work, yet the rewards are endless.

I think when we love horses, there is no changing it. There is just something about them...

I've never been on a horse! Never had the opportunity and never even thought about it. But my husband loves horses! If we didn't take such long trips to his native Holland, I guess we could have a horse, chickens, etc. Finding a sitter for our Flip is trouble enough. Linda@Wetcreek Blog

Great pictures, you can really feel the power of the horses. We have just been to a Baroque Horse show.

Beautiful creatures. My niece participates in Reigning shows. Part of the year our son gets to ride a horse while working...
Glad you had fun leaning on the fence!

I enjoy watching horses too but don't like riding them. I'm sure you had some fond memories while watching these riders.

I get it so true. I miss them! My daughter still has a couple of horses. She is blessed to be able to teach riding lessons. She loves it. Thanks for sharing the show pics. Brought back memories for me too! Have a great weekend.
