The Real Truth

Not all adventures here in A Quiet Corner are mine.  According to Moon and Copper, there's a few facts I need to share with you about the babysitter.  She apparently had a few adventures herself while we were away.  For instance...

The first day she was here, she locked herself out of the house.  Yep!  The housekey was in the house in her purse.  The garage door opener was in her car.  Her car was in the garage.  The garage door was shut.  She went downstairs to let the lids out.  The door shut behind her and there she was...with the dogs...out in the pouring rain!

In her PJ's and fluffy slippers (which she discovered, absorb water really well), it was a blessing she had her cell phone.  She texted me in Aruba.

One small problem though.  My cell phone and text messaging wasn't working because I disabled the data function to avoid roaming charges.  When we checked into our resort, I emailed her telling her we landed safely using that oh so slow WiFi...the one that lost connection every time the wind blew!!! (Did you know that there is a constant wind in Aruba...from the easterly tradewinds?)

So what do you think she did????

to be continued...

At least she had her cell! Maybe she took Moon and Copper home for a sleepover.

Broke a window??? That would be my first guess.

Before or after she had a really good whimper? Well, let's see, what are the possibilities.....break a window....run to the neighbours....call one of your kids....
can't wait to find out.

Let me see - tried the windows, broke a window or went to a neighbour's for help. Guess I'll have to wait for the end of the story. :-)

Called the police? Broke a window?
I would just have cried.

I love one of your to be continued stories. Actually, I would love a whole lot more of them. You are such a good writer and it was a joy to read about your childhood adventures with cows and such.

What a predicament, I can't wait! When we have locked ourselves out, Phil has to take a brick and break out a basement window to crawl through! So maybe she broke in?

Humm, she took Moon and Cooper to the neighbor's house and spent the night there after calling your hotel front desk and left you a message?

I think she probably had a panic attack. That's my guess.

In this house I have to lock the door with a key. There's no little button to turn on the door knob. That's what I had at the old house and I locked myself out on more than one occasion. So, I put a key in a zip lock bag and hid it under a rock. There were many rocks decorating the yard so I didn't have to worry about someone else finding it. It was under a rock and the rock had ivy growing over it.

well I know the first thing I would have done would have been to have a little pity party for myself

Oh my gosh! I can't imagine! I have recently made sure I have a key to our front door just in case the electric is off and I can't open the garage door to get in. That is if the generator isn't working. You just never know.
