Giant Chocolate Cookie Recipe

Thanks for all the comments about Kree's Surprise.  Here's the recipe I use, which is two recipes combined.

1/2 c softened butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c granulated sugar
3/4 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
3/8 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 c all purpose flour
1 1/4 c dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375.  If using metal pan, line with non stick foil.  I used my round baking stone (about 11 inches), ungreased.

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and both sugars until creamy using medium high speed of electric mixer.  Beat in vanilla.  Then beat in beat just until smooth.  Beat in baking soda.

Stir in flour with a mixing spoon.  Then stir in chips.

With a spatula or scraper spread batter...very thick...in pan leaving about 1/2 inch around edge for spreading.

Bake for 12-14 minutes.  Cool on rack completely before frosting.
