An Early Start

Knowing that the Pres wanted to head to the parts store today to pick up a new fuel filter when I got up at 5:30, I ate breakfast let the dogs out and fed them earlier than normal.  In and out of the shower by 6:45 and closing the pass door to the garage quietly I left for the gym, knowing that I would be home by the time he woke up.

Although I'd never been this early since we moved here, it was wonderful!  Seeing lots of new faces in the locker room and out in the workout area, I continued to focus on what I was there for.  Sometimes, when my friends are there, we start gabbing and although I adore them, my reason for going is to workout by body and mind...not just my mouth!   In fact, last week, I said to my friend, "You've got me for twenty minutes while I'm on the elliptical.  Then I have to move on."  Laughing because she knows how I am, we parted ways after twenty minutes.

Does that sound mean?  I hope not because I don't mean it to be.

Listening to TV the other day, they had someone on giving hints for gym rats and tips for the newbies so they stick with it.  Smiling to myself when I heard that one of the tips was to set a schedule and stick to it.  That's what I try to do.  I will admit, however, that I do not get upset when I can't stick to it.

Do you stick to a schedule for things that matter to you?

Oh, the truck!  I have to tell you about the truck...that will have to be tomorrow.
See, when I blog I workout my mouth...LOL!

Sometimes we really do need to put our foot down and let it be known that chat time is over. I'm sure she understands. :)

My 88 year old mother is going to fire her caregiver tomorrow for chatting too much! Who is caring for whom? Mom is putting her foot somewhere else. ;) Linda@Wetcreek Blog

i am a schedule person for any and all and everything i do, that includes my housework and meal times. and i do get upset when my schedule is broken into. one of the reasons i rarely talk on the phone. it rings at the wrong time.

Sometimes my schedules get waylaid, but going to the local Y in the early mornings when we are home is one that i enjoy because of the folks we see there and we talk while on the cardio equipment.
