It's All in the Eggs

That's what the Benson's said to me as they handed me several dozen duck eggs before we left Tia Chi last week.

"JP, they are great for baking."

Thus far, they, both the Bensons and the eggs, have proved to be true because the Lemon Bars I made came out THE BEST ever!!!

Oh, before I forget, I plan on sharing the recipes...:)

Look at the size compared to the Jumbos in our frig!!

Quite a bit of baking has been accomplished this past week.  This year I decided that variety rather than quantity will be the driving force.  So rather than each family getting four or five dozen of one kind, they will simply get a dozen of one kind...just a lot more kinds.

Change is good...:)

JP, I like your way of thinking and I look forward to your recipes. Did you eat any of the duck eggs to compare to the taste of hen eggs? When I started buying free range eggs from a local farm instead of from the grocery store, both my hubby and I said they tasted so much better.

I suppose they are good eggs, but just the thought of duck eggs makes me gag a bit for some reason. Weird, I know....

I have never tried duck eggs.. but I'll bet they are good.. Getting home made cookies would be a gift given from the heart.. Receivers of these cookies should feel so blessed..
Well be waiting for the recipe...and try my luck at making them.. There is a gal down the road that raises ducks..I'll have to ask her if I could have one egg.. Eggs that are bought at a farm are so much better than store bought ones.. I do buy eggs from a local farm girl..yum yum~!
Have a blessed day~! ta ta for now from Iowa:)

Have tried out guinea hen eggs which are so tiny, and very hard to open, but have never had a duck egg. How fun to be starting all of your baking!

I've never had duck eggs so I guess I don't know what I'm missing.
I like the idea of more kinds of cookies

I don't think I've ever had a duck egg. The people who bought your house have ducks in the backyard now. They are really cute
