The Ad Said...

email or call the contact listed with CT.org.  Tearing the clipping out of the newspaper I set it right between the kitchen phone and my charging cell phone.  That way, I would remember to call first thing Monday morning.

I'd gone to the gym early on Wednesday and once home and in the kitchen I began stuffing my face as always...peanut butter and celery, carrots and veggie dip...while I made my "early" lunch.  After all it was only 10:30 in the morning and I knew that I would be eating again around 1pm.

The phone rang and displayed a number from the State of CT.  Once he introduced himself, I immediately thanked him for calling.  We chatted about the upcoming events in June and what he would be doing for future events...the Nature Walk, a program on Ferns, the canoe paddle, a Fantasy Walk and the Dragonfly Identification Program.  Even before he finished his list, I knew I was going to enjoy the Goodwin State Forest.

The next thing I knew, I received an email from him.

JP-nice taking with you today.  I am officially inviting you to join my senior group on Thursday evening from 5:30-7:15 or so for a little senior “party” get together.   Also I will have you put onto the Goodwin Listserve so that you will get all of our mailings. Cheers.

Enjoying life and those we meet is so easy, isn't it?

Just got caught up on your blog.

Oh my - those backroads. I did something like that one time, and I was low on gas. I was actually lost, in another town, and all I knew is I was on a road along a river. S c a r y.

You never continued "The Call" post, which is why I was getting caught up...to find out what it was all about.

I took an Indiana Master Naturalist class. I forgot all about it until I found the three ring binder the other day while packing stuff up! Enjoy your nature! It's amazing.
