Pressing Pleasure

I don't know about you, but I like using cloth napkins.  Oh, don't get me wrong, we use paper napkins a lot as well, but there's just something about me knowing that they're re~usable that makes me feel good.  They make me feel warm and cozy.  Actually, pressing them gives me pleasure.  I find it very relaxing.

And so they sit, pressed and ringed, awaiting the company we're expecting over the weekend.
Ah, life in the country...it's as good as grinding your own coffee beans!

Cloth napkins are very nice
you get to use them more than twice.

Cloth napkins help save paper! That's why I love them :-)

I'm going to cast my vote for paper napkins..they seem much more hygenic to me. Especially if you have a burning barrel and can dispose of them in that way.

They're lovely - but I hate ironing them.

We also use cloth napkins on a regular basis. I just like the way they feel.

JP, I agree with the feelings that cloth napkins can give over paper ones and admit to using more paper ones than cloth, usually reserved for company visits. In seems I have an excess of cloth napkins which have come in handy for packing glassware and dishes too! I have never ironed mine.

J.P., I always use cloth napkins. There is something so homey about them. I don't even mind the ironing.

How beautiful.... I don't use cloth napkins. We rarely have guests, although I should have started that so long ago. Good for you!

Now you've got me thinking I should make some -- we didn't grow up with cloth napkins, so it's not something I would have thought of. :)

Yes, I do like clothe napkins. I feel quite elegant when I use them... even if I'm at my own table. :)

We stopped using paper napkins several weeks ago and now use only cloth. I have some older ones that we use for every day (I don't iron these). I throw them in the laundry and wash them when I have a load. We're on a major cost savings kick here, so I am cutting way back on paper towel usage, too. Recycling old dish towels for use in cleaning, instead of paper towels. It cuts down on our trash, too. I'm shocked at how long a roll of paper towels lasts now. It just tells me how much paper I've needlessly used.

oh, glad to find you ... do you make your own or do you buy your cloth napkins. like you i have a few real napkins but figured it would save a bit to have cloth napkins to reuse over & over. wanted to make my own though. what are your thoughts? glad to stop over thanks to rural thursdays. take care. (:

Silly me, I have quite a few and never use them...I'm going to have to change that! They look pretty just sittin' in the basket too.

We have cloth napkins, but they never get used. They get trumped by paper towels. LOL
