23 and Counting

I can hardly believe it myself!  Only 23 days until the 15th of October!!

Driving into Roanoke this morning for my last appointment with my dental hygienist and Dr Hunk-a-Punk, made my tummy feel a little strange.  Greeted as always by the friendly faces of the girls behind the desk, I told them about our upcoming move.  Their sad faces began to light up as I told them about being closer to the kids and grand-kids and then they said, "then it is worth it!"

A woman entered the waiting room and sat next to me.  Exchanging smiles was first and then a conversation around our gardens began.  The topic then switched to dogs as I was able to just finish the story of Moon and Copper before Deidre called out my name.  As I rose from the comfortable waiting room chair, the woman said, 'What a great story!  That will make my day!"

I'm so happy you will be in your new home before Thanksgiving. Does that mean you will have to cook for the family? haha

Saying goodbye is never easy but, oh, the new adventures that wait ahead!

I agree with Sandie and will add that when we moved back to West Virginia from Maryland I was on cloud nine! I remember when we were all packed up and heading home the song Country Roads Take me Home to the Place I belong West Virginia Mountain Mama Take me Home Country Roads came on the radio. It was a wonderful day!

How many semi trucks will it take to move? lol We had only been married 4 years and hadn't acquired much so we were good with the biggest Ryder truck with the tow on the back for my husband's car and I followed behind in my car. Funny thing is I remember when we first left but I don't remember the drive inbetween. I remember honking the horn and the excitement when we crossed the West Virginia border. I remember unpacking.

It's gonna be fun! I'm excited for you JP!

Moves are hard on the psyche, so many goodbyes and not enough hellos until settled in... But still a very exciting time and being close to family means everything.

It's a small world. You will be able to keep in touch with all your old friends.
