Are You Sick?

When I worked at the "bank" and was still based out of Connecticut, several of my peers, including myself volunteered to head to Pennsylvania.  No, it wasn't for vacation.  No, it wasn't to go visit Hershey (darn!) and get chocolate.  No, it wasn't to go visit the Amish.  It was because we needed to close down a few of their branches due to a recent merger and acquisition.  You're probably, at this point saying, wow, she really was smart.  I wonder what happened.

Off we go on our trip and on this one we were split up so each of us would oversee the final steps needed before closing the doors.  In fact, if I'm not mistaken, this was the day their Safe Deposit Vault contents was being shipped.  You need to remind me to tell about some of those adventures...yikes!!!

My roommate and another gal, also a peer, were in the front seat of the car, planning to drop me off at the branch that was my responsibility.  As we made our way through the small community holding onto our morning Dunkin Donuts coffees, we approached a traffic light.  When the light turned green, the car accelerated and I, peering out the window taking in all the sights, suddenly shouted, "Stop..you've got to pull over...I have to get out!"

My roommate, who was a very good friend, knew that I often got car sick when riding in the back seat.  She immediately said, "Okay, are you sick?"  As the car came to a screeching halt, I opened my door and got out.  Backtracking and walking at a fast pace as quickly as I could, not because I would be late for work but because I didn't want anyone else to get there before me!  Get where? you say.

I needed to get to the store that had this guy on SALE

I could have named him Georgina or Margaret.  However, I named him Sovereign because, after all, that was the name of the bank that was closing some of it's doors.

P.S.  Today IS Tuesday...remember to link up with Angela @ WVA Treasures' Show & Tail.  I forgot until I visited her site!  Yikes!  I am getting old...:)

The name fits him perfect JP! I remember the Sovereign Bank when I lived in Maryland. Seems like one of the attorneys I worked for was on the Board of Directors or something. I'm glad you found your goose and on sale to boot!
