First of all, I need to thank you all so much for your ever so supportive comments today about my "procedure." They really made me feel special, although it could have been the drugs I was on which don't wear off until supper-time (now)!!!
After reading some of them, though, I am glad that I didn't get to them until just now. Some were a little worrisome! For those of you that had a bad experience with it, my heart goes out to you and your relatives. However, when and if you have to be scheduled for a colonoscopy, it's REALLY NOT THAT BAD.
Yes, yesterday evening, it was a bit of an inconvenience having to stay on the throne with my sudoku book in one hand and a glass of my "poo-poo juice' in the other! LOL!!!
And yes, this morning I was starving. However, the procedure was so non-eventful. Everyone at the hospital was so sweet. Did you know that they have the coolest thing now? You know those gowns you have to put on with "the opening in the back?" As I slipped it on, I noticed this liner on the front side and I thought, that it must make it a little heavier so "your parts that tend to enlarge when you get chilly" don't show though. I was totally wrong. When one of my nurses, Mike, came in, he asked me if I was chilly. I told him, "I was freezing" and the next thing I knew he hooked up thing hair dryer looking thing and lifted my blanket to attach the hose to the slits in the front of the gown. DAMN!!! It blows air into the gown like insulation and it's temperature controlled. It was so COOL...I mean WARM!!!!
Bottom line (pardon the pun), my test was fine. The doctor did find a growth but assured me its' nothing to worry about. He will consult with a surgeon and they will get back to me in a few weeks at which point I will return for surgery for them to remove it.
Yep. They told me to avoid greasy foods. I did. Whopper's are char-broiled, you know. I didn't get fries. I did get the onion rings and the dipping sauce though. It sure feels good in there now...:)
