Holy Toads...the continuing saga

The other day, I did a post entitled "Holy Critters".  And since I'd reached out to my blogger buddies for some guidance, I am pleased to announce that their input resulted in a little bit of follow-up on my part.  First of all, frogs, I was told, are green and larger.  These critters in my window well are not green and thank heavens they are NOT large.  Conclusion: they are toads.

Then, between my blogger buddies and my buddies and the Y, it was a unanimous decision.  I should try to get them out of the window well because they need water.  Made sense.  So, the other day, I went out there to do a noble deed...saving a bunch of silly toads that climbed in there to begin with!

First and foremost, I thought that the smart thing to do would be to pull the taller weeds right out.  That was easy enough.  Doing that helped me to see what I was doing and to see that there was nothing else slithering around in there (if you know what I mean).   So wearing my tall rubber boots and my gardening gloves, slowly and cautiously I stepped down into the window well.

As I began to capture these little guys, I began counting...one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight...as they got lifted up out of the window well onto the moist, green grass...grass that led them down to the creek, through the lilies and other plants that toads like.  I went back down for more...I've never done dumpster diving, but that's what it felt like...nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen...I was getting tired...fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four!  Yep, that was more than enough for today, I thought!

However, it's not over.  I'll have to go back again because, after climbing out, I did see at least three more rascals that had burrowed into the soft earth and beneath leaf litter.  And, apparently, even after doing what I thought was a noble deed, they like it there because a few of the ones that I set out onto the grass headed right back for there old stomping grounds!  Today, I counted six in there.

So, once again, I ask my blogger buddies:
Should I continue removing them?
OR
Should I start a toad farm?
P.S.  You'll have to leave me a comment with your answer, though, because I haven't yet learned how to do a "vote" thingy on my blog!

I'm laughing...Now that's a lot of toads.. Well, here is what you should do ~ build them a ramp, so they can come and go. They must really like it there. Now you can say you have a toad farm...I love it~!~!~!
Have a great day...
