Yesterday I attended our monthly Garden Club meeting. Our special guest was a woman who calls herself "Lavender Lady". She gave us a presentation on some of the medicinal herbs. Actually she was telling us that she created an Herbal First Aide Kit that she used to use quite frequently when her son would get injured playing soccer when he was younger.
It was really quite interesting as she passed around some of the tinctures that she made. For instance, she referred to a salve made with Calendula, Plaintain and Comfrey. Then she talked about Fever Few for headaches. Others that she mentioned were: Echinacea, Golden Seal, Swedish Bitters, Tee Tree, Willow Bark, Marshmallow, Peppermint and St John's Wort. Apparently, she has been doing this for many, many years and now that she has retired, she is able to devote more time to her herbs, many of which she has planted in her yard.
So, today I made another new friend and she promised she would come and see me at Home in the Hollow.
